HairWhatIf Refund Policy

Version: 1.0 Last Updated: July 31, 2026

This Refund Policy explains how HairWhatIf treats credits, generation failures, delivered results, refunds, chargebacks, duplicate payments, and payment-provider disputes.

This policy works together with the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, checkout terms, and any mandatory consumer-protection rights that apply to you.

1. Credits and Payments Are Different Ledgers

HairWhatIf may use credits to settle delivered hairstyle-preview results. Payment-card refunds and chargebacks are handled through the payment process.

These are different things:

  • A credit reservation holds product value while a generation job is pending.
  • A credit settlement consumes product value after a checked result is delivered.
  • A credit release returns reserved product value to your HairWhatIf account.
  • A card refund returns money through the payment provider or merchant of record.
  • A chargeback or dispute is handled through your payment provider and the merchant of record.

A credit release is not a card refund.

2. When Credits Settle

Unless a checkout or product page states otherwise, one credit settles only after HairWhatIf delivers one checked result.

A job should not settle a credit when:

  • no result is delivered;
  • the job fails before delivery;
  • the job is cancelled before delivery;
  • the provider rejects the request for policy or safety reasons;
  • HairWhatIf rejects the result during required quality or safety checks;
  • account deletion prevents delivery before settlement;
  • payment or entitlement verification fails before delivery; or
  • HairWhatIf determines that settlement would be incorrect.

3. Failed or Blocked Generations

If a generation fails, is blocked, or does not produce a deliverable result, HairWhatIf may release the reserved credit or avoid settlement.

Failure examples include:

  • upload validation failure;
  • file decode failure;
  • provider outage;
  • provider policy rejection;
  • internal safety rejection;
  • identity-preservation failure;
  • edit-locality failure;
  • severe artifact or quality failure;
  • timeout or cancellation before delivery;
  • account-deletion lock; or
  • entitlement or reconciliation failure.

HairWhatIf may retry, repair, or refuse a generation depending on the failure category and product rules.

4. Delivered Results

A delivered result settles one credit unless HairWhatIf states otherwise.

AI hairstyle previews can be imperfect. A delivered result is not automatically refundable because:

  • you dislike the style;
  • a stylist cannot reproduce the preview exactly;
  • the preview is not a guarantee of real haircut, color, texture, or treatment outcome;
  • your real hair type, length, density, condition, or salon process differs from the preview;
  • you selected the wrong style, reference, setting, or photo;
  • you changed your mind after delivery; or
  • the result is suitable as a preview but not identical to your expectations.

Where available, HairWhatIf may provide a repair, regeneration, courtesy credit, or other adjustment at its discretion.

5. Payment Refunds

Payment refunds are handled through the merchant of record, payment provider, or checkout flow used for the purchase. Waffo Pancake may process HairWhatIf purchases.

Refund eligibility may depend on:

  • the product purchased;
  • whether credits were used;
  • whether a result was delivered;
  • the time since purchase;
  • payment-provider rules;
  • tax, invoice, and accounting requirements;
  • fraud, abuse, or chargeback history;
  • region-specific consumer laws; and
  • any checkout terms shown at purchase.

Refunds may return money to the original payment method. Timing is controlled by the payment provider, card network, bank, and merchant of record.

6. Duplicate, Mistaken, or Failed Payments

If a payment appears duplicate, mistaken, incomplete, reversed, or incorrectly mapped, HairWhatIf may reconcile the transaction using signed payment-provider events and internal account records.

Possible outcomes include:

  • granting missing credits;
  • removing duplicate credits;
  • releasing an incorrect reservation;
  • reversing an incorrect settlement;
  • issuing a refund through the merchant of record;
  • asking the payment provider to investigate;
  • temporarily locking affected credits; or
  • requesting more information from you.

7. Chargebacks and Disputes

If you initiate a chargeback, dispute, payment reversal, or similar process, HairWhatIf may:

  • suspend or restrict the affected account;
  • freeze disputed credits;
  • reverse credits tied to the disputed payment;
  • preserve transaction, entitlement, and delivery records;
  • submit evidence to the merchant of record or payment provider;
  • wait for the dispute outcome before making further adjustments; and
  • close, restore, or adjust access based on the final outcome.

Chargebacks are not a way to obtain free credits or delivered results.

8. Fraud, Abuse, and Policy Violations

HairWhatIf may deny refunds, credits, retries, or adjustments when we reasonably believe there is:

  • payment fraud;
  • stolen payment-method use;
  • refund abuse;
  • chargeback abuse;
  • account sharing or resale;
  • violation of the Acceptable Use Policy;
  • image-rights violation;
  • attempt to bypass provider, safety, or policy controls;
  • manipulation of checkout, webhook, or credit systems; or
  • other misuse of HairWhatIf.

We may still provide refunds where required by law.

9. Subscriptions and Recurring Purchases

If HairWhatIf offers subscriptions, the checkout page or account billing page will describe the current billing interval, credit grant, renewal, cancellation, and refund rules.

Unless stated otherwise:

  • cancelling a subscription stops future renewals;
  • cancellation does not automatically refund past paid periods;
  • credits already granted may remain subject to product rules;
  • unpaid, refunded, disputed, or reversed subscription periods may remove or lock related credits; and
  • provider or merchant-of-record terms may apply.

10. Taxes, Fees, and Currency

Prices, taxes, fees, currency, and invoice terms are shown by the current checkout or server-published catalog where available.

Refund amounts may be affected by:

  • tax rules;
  • currency conversion;
  • card-network or bank processing;
  • payment-provider requirements;
  • partial use of credits;
  • statutory refund rights; and
  • merchant-of-record obligations.

11. How to Request Help

For billing or refund help, contact HairWhatIf support with:

  • your HairWhatIf account email;
  • order, checkout, invoice, or transaction identifier if available;
  • the date of purchase;
  • the product or credit package;
  • a short description of the issue; and
  • any relevant screenshot that does not reveal full card details or sensitive personal information.

Do not send full payment-card numbers, government identifiers, passwords, or sensitive images through ordinary support messages.

12. Mandatory Legal Rights

Nothing in this Refund Policy limits refund, cancellation, chargeback, consumer-protection, or statutory rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.

Where this policy conflicts with mandatory law, mandatory law controls.
